Project by Jerry Roland

A pair of bookshelves. Materials are white birch and birch-veneer plywood.
The finish is wax over wiping varnish over aniline dye over shellac.

It's called a slant-back design, based on one I saw in a furniture store.
The face frame is steam bent.

Detail of the crown molding.
Joints are reinforced with blind splines and bracing.

Doors are inset and hung with euro hinges.

Detail of a shelf. The face of the shelf is beveled to match the slant of the face frame.
