N E W S Winter 2009 Leauge Info... by: Justin Betz posted: Thursday, November 13, 2008 The ping pong league will have two primary components: 1. Weekly play. Due to limited available table space we’re going to work on an honor system where a weekly match-up is assigned and it will be up the players to decide when the match will be played and the results will be reported to the league commissioners. 2. Tournaments! To get us all together to feel like a league, we will organize monthly fun tournaments and an end of the season championship. Some ideas we’ve had for the monthly fun tournaments are: a "blind date" tournament (a doubles tournament where teams are formed at the tournament by random selection), a "switch-hand scramble" (where the entire tournament is played with your "opposite" hand), and of course we’re open to suggestions. New League at the Recreation Center Starting in January by: Dane Rider posted: Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Our newly-formed Ping Pong League will accept registrations in Mid-November for play to begin in January. We’ll be forming two league types: Competition and Non-competition. The fee for our first session, Winter 2009, is going to be FREE! However, you must be a Paid Member of the Rockwell Collins Recreation Center in order to register!
