Do you have an old COX .049 engines laying around you wish had a trottle for use in R/C? I found a great web site that gives that old .049 a new purpose.

Here are a few items that are available.
https://coxengines.ca/
HobbyKing .049 engines and supplies

  • Throttle Conversion for Cox .049 Engine
  • Cox .049 / .051 Muffler
  • Type "B" Head Conversion for a standard glow plug

If you like this idea and you would like a .049 project, you have many options.

http://outerzone.co.uk/ has lots of .049 plans to choose from or you can scale up or down one of your own. A typical wing span is between 35 to 40 inches.

A couple of plans available from Outerzone are (left) Aermacchi Lockheed Santa Maria by David Boddington & David Toyer from Aeromodeller April 1968 and (right) Skywalker 1/2A by Bill Evans from RCMplans March 1985. Resizing a Gullows F/F airplane is another good option.    fg
